land option: take the BA001, passing through Itacaré, until the junction of Marau (1h15) and from there follow approx. 50km (dirt road) to Barra Grande. Duration of the trip depends on the conditions of the dirt road.

land + sea option: follow BA001 until Camamu (1h30), passing through Itacaré and Marau junction, leave the car in parking and follow by speedboat (30 min) to Barra Grande.

For those coming by car from the center west and south, access the region via the city of Ilhéus.

From Salvador

land option: cross the ferry boat (1h), continue until Camamu (3h), continue on BA001 until the junction of Marau (30 min) and from there follow approx. 50km (dirt road) to Barra Grande.

land + sea option: in Camamu leave the car in parking and take a speedboat (30 min) to Barra Grande.

On long holidays and New Year's and / or Carnival periods, the ferry boat system can congest and there is a long waiting time for boarding, in which case go around Todos os Santos Bay, passing through Valença and following the rest of the trip to Camamu or even Barra Grande may be the option with the shortest travel time.
